You pick a template, dump in your work history, and it helps reshape it into bullet points that look like they belong in a modern resume (tight verbs, measurable outcomes, fewer rambling sentences). It’s the kind of tool you reach for when you don’t want to fight formatting in Word for an hour, or when your current resume reads like a job diary instead of a hiring document. In a real workflow, I see it fitting in two moments: (1) the messy drafting stage, where you just need structure fast, and (2) the “make it ATS-clean” pass right before you start applying broadly. That second part matters more than people admit. You can have the best experience in the world and still get filtered out because your layout is a little too clever. This builder pushes you toward conventional layouts, which is usually the right call. Still, I’m a bit wary of any resume tool that makes “AI” the headline. Not because AI can’t help (it can), but because it can also make everyone’s resume sound vaguely the same — competent, polished, and… weirdly generic. That’s usually where things get tricky. You’ll want to edit the output until it sounds like you, not like a template discovered confidence. The boundary of usefulness is pretty clear: it’ll help you produce a clean, application-ready resume quickly, but it won’t magically know what’s impressive about your work, and it won’t pick the right stories for a specific role. If you’re applying for something niche or senior and your resume needs sharp positioning, you’ll still need human judgment (yours, ideally).
